Distributing materials is the core of our business. We execute EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) connections between majority of our vendors to expedite ordering, payments and delivery and have electronic VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) established with a large base of vendors to forecast inventory needs and automatically refill our inventory. With 85 years of experience, our distribution process is unrivaled.
We use streamlined procedures in addition to EDI and VMI to improve margins and inventory fulfillment enabling us to pass the cost savings to our customers.
We receive our own materials and record the receipt using our digital electronic scanners that are integrated with our enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. This instantly updates the location and quantity with our on-hand inventory.
In order to maintain material orderliness, our inventory is scanned again and put in the corresponding warehouse bin location. This ensures all material is accounted for and can be located instantly.
We transfer inventory between our four branches every day using our ERP software and technology and ensure 24-hour availability for all on-hand inventory.
Quality control measures are implemented to ensures orders are properly processed, packaged and staged complete for an accurate delivery.
Deliveries are made twice a day or as needed with a delivery confirmation receipt provided to make sure all products are accounted for.
During this aspect of supply chain management, Stokes Lighting and Electric develops the strategy to help our customers achieve their project goals.
